Weir Rockin 2007
Opening Bands!
The MacGillivray Brothers & The Persuaders
BIOGRAPHY: Luke and Tom MacGillivray are brothers, born and raised in Lower Sackville, Nova Scotia, Canada. Playing together
since 1993, Tom on bass and Luke on guitar. Both brothers sing and have been writing, recording, and performing
original material since 1996.
In 1999 Luke and Tom formed a band called Kaico Green which focused on original
songs. They recorded two studio albums, played a ton of shows including a handful on live television. They shared the
stage with some great bands including Sum41, The Weakerthans, Treble Charger, Shyne Factory, and One I'd Trouser just to
name a few.
The summer of 2004 saw the end of Kaico Green, although The MacGillivray Brothers often united for the odd
gig. Now back in full swing with new drummer Ryan Malcolm and lead guitarist Joey King, the band won the Big Leagues
Battle of the Bands and is now shooting a music video production at Media Works Studio East.
The MacGillivray Brothers
have an original and diverse rock sound, driven by strong vocal melodies and harmonies. Their sound ranges from
adrenaline-pumped power pop to intoxicating ballads, with a little funk mixed in.
